The Depanneur Cookbook

Equal parts documentary, manifesto and cookbook, the book will feature 100 recipes from 100 cooks, personal stories, gorgeous photography, and thoughtful contributions from some of Canada’s foremost figures in food. With over 80 nationalities represented, it will be a long-overdue book that truly reflects our city’s incredible diversity of talent.

And I hope to build this the same way I built The Dep: with, by, and for our community. I will be launching an Adopt-A-Recipe Kickstarter — with 100 backers sponsoring 100 cooks we can create a book as special and unique as The Depanneur itself.

Adopt-A-Recipe

The cost to Adopt-A-Recipe will be $250: $100 for the cook + $100 for photography + $50 for a signed copy of the book ($10 off the regular signed book price), or $90 for 2 signed copies.

Backers who Adopt-a-Recipe will be invited to nominate their favourite Dep cooks and/or recipes for inclusion in the book. (As the exact number of sponsors/contributors is still unknown, and we have worked with several hundred cooks, I cannot guarantee all nominees will be included).

There will also be a few select VIP Patron opportunities — which also include a special dedication in the book + 2 tickets to an exclusive post-COVID book launch Supper Club with cooks & dishes featured in the book — as well as basic options to simply pre-order a book or two, starting at $40.
